Continuing the series on Religious Monuments/ Structures I now would like to feature some of the most beautiful Buddhist shrines I have visited. During my travels in the Indian Himalayan state of Jammu and Kashmir I have always been impressed by the massive, colourful Buddhist Gomphas. These monasteries mostly located atop tall mountains are replete with massive murals and giant larger-than-life statues of Lord Buddha.
Visiting these monasteries have always given me a great sense of peace and calm and helped me rejuvenate my life with new thoughts and positive feelings. They have also helped me get a new direction/ perspective to life.
